Iterations

Iterations (2025) showcases two old canvases I painted over, exploring how my relationship with certain experiences has shifted over time.
Both these pieces 'home' and 'unknown' were originally quite dark and empty, and at the time (about 3 years before) felt necessary to help me express and process layers of trauma and grief. Painting over them isn't an attempt to ignore or erase these parts of my experience, but to reflect how my inner world has been shifting, and to allow new narratives to come through.
It is both an acknowldgement of the dark, and a celebration of change, a note of gratitude for every version of myself, and to be exploring lighter hues.
