Highlands Residency

Photos from a week’s residency in the Scottish Highlands (July, 2025).
Time spent with a small group of artists from a range of disciplines, exploring our relationship to nature and how moments of rest can enrich our creative practice.
I experimented with photography as my main medium for the week, pushing me out my comfort zone.
I enjoyed playing around with scale - from capturing wide stretching landscapes, to the animate experiences of my fellow artists, as well as much smaller details in my environement.
I also enjoyed seeing how photography can be an exercise of mindfulness, paying attention to the textures, shapes and colours of the world around me, and helping me notice the things that I may usually miss.
